Impact Africa Consulting Limited honored with ISAR Award 2024

Impact Africa Consulting has been honored with the ISAR Award 2024 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva, Switzerland. This recognition highlights the firm’s commitment to advancing sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across Africa and the MENA region.

The ISAR (International Standards of Accounting and Reporting) Award recognizes organizations that empower businesses to measure and disclose their sustainability contributions effectively. It celebrates initiatives that enhance the quality and comparability of sustainability reporting and support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The award underscores the transformative potential of sustainability reporting and ESG integration in driving the 2030 Agenda forward.

Impact Africa’s work—including its support for businesses in publishing sustainability reports, embedding ESG principles into organizational strategies, and providing capacity-building programs—was central to its recognition with the ISAR Award. These efforts reflect the firm’s commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and impactful contributions to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

“This award is a testament to our dedication to helping organizations align with global sustainability goals and embrace ESG principles meaningfully,” said Edward Mungai, Lead Consultant and Partner at Impact Africa Consulting. “We are grateful to UNCTAD for recognizing our efforts and are committed to continuing our work in fostering impactful change.”

Throughout the year, Impact Africa collaborated with over 50 clients across 16+ countries in Africa and the MENA region. The firm’s services include crafting sustainability reports aligned with global standards, integrating ESG strategies, and offering capacity-building programs. Over 110 professionals were certified through GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) programs, while more than 2,000 individuals participated in specialized sustainability courses designed to equip them with the practical tools to implement impactful initiatives.

Impact Africa’s efforts extend beyond reporting, embedding sustainability into all aspects of business. The firm has supported organizations in resource mobilization, governance, and policy development, helping them adopt a sustainability-focused approach in their operations. These initiatives aim to foster resilience, long-term impact, and improved sustainability disclosures.

The ISAR Award attracted applications from a diverse range of sectors, including public and private enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and international entities from both developed and developing countries. Impact Africa’s recognition in this competitive field underscores the effectiveness of its strategies and the significant impact of its work.

Our commitment to supporting organizations in Africa in improving ESG reporting, building strategies that embed sustainability into their core, and providing essential capacity-building to enhance understanding and adoption remains unwavering,” said Edward Mungai. “This recognition is a testament to the progress we’ve made, reinforcing that we are on the right path and motivating us to continue fostering partnerships that drive meaningful change.”

This milestone is not only a reflection of Impact Africa’s efforts but also a celebration of the collective progress made by its partners, clients, and stakeholders in advancing sustainable development. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed to this achievement and look forward to another year of impactful work.

“The contribution of the team, the quality of their work, and the unwavering passion they bring to every project are the driving forces behind our success. This recognition is a direct result of that dedication and collaborative efforts. As we look ahead to 2025, I am confident that with the same commitment and focus, we will continue to elevate our impact and achieve even greater milestones.
