Sustainability is now a financial variable. The FSA® Credential qualifies you to treat it as one
Financial valuations are now expected to account for sustainability-related risks and opportunities — and connect them directly to revenue, cost of capital, and long-term value. Investors are screening for it before capital moves. Boards are asking for it in the room. Capital markets across Africa are beginning to require it in writing.

Who Its For
The FSA® Credential is the credential for professionals at the intersection of financial analysis and sustainability disclosure, in every sector where that intersection now matters.
01. Corporate Finance & Reporting: CFOs · Finance Directors · Controllers
Your annual report is changing. ISSB Standards require sustainability disclosures alongside financial statements. The FSA Credential equips you to lead this integration, connecting sustainability risks to revenue, assets, and cost of capital.
“Board-level conversations are changing. Are you ready to lead them?”
02. Investment & Financial Analysis: Portfolio Managers · Credit Officers
The FSA Credential equips you to identify sustainability-related financial risks and opportunities, normalise sustainability data for fundamental and comparative analysis, and apply it to the valuation models your investment decisions are built on.
“Value what others can’t yet see — and show your working.”
03. Sustainability Advisory: ESG Advisors · Sustainability Consultants
Your clients are being asked questions that require financial analysis fluency to answer. The FSA Credential bridges the gap between sustainability expertise and financial markets language, making your advisory work legible to boards, investors, and capital markets.
“Advise with the credibility capital markets recognise.”
04. Impact & Development Finance: Impact Investors · DFI Professionals
Impact investing and sustainable finance are converging on ISSB-aligned disclosure. Development finance professionals who hold the FSA Credential are positioned as the technical authorities on this convergence — within their institutions and with the enterprises they finance.
“The languages of impact and finance are converging. Speak both.”
05. Consulting & Advisory Firms Advisors · Partners · Senior Practitioners
African enterprises are increasingly required to disclose in line with ISSB Standards to access capital markets, development finance, and global supply chains. Consultants with the FSA Credential are the go-to advisors for this transition — with the technical depth to back it up.
“Lead the advisory work that African markets need most.”
06. Risk & Compliance Tag. Officers · Compliance Leads · Professionals
Sustainability risk is no longer a separate register. Under ISSB Standards, it is a financial risk — one that boards, auditors, and regulators are increasingly measuring with the same rigour as credit, market, and operational exposure. The FSA Credential gives you the framework to assess, report, and govern it accordingly.
“The risk register just got longer. The FSA Credential covers the new entries.”

About The FSA Credential - Two levels. One credential. Complete ISSB fluency
Developed by the IFRS Foundation, the FSA® Credential is structured as two examinations — each building on the previous. Together, they take you from understanding the sustainability disclosure landscape to applying it in financial analysis and investment decision-making.
Level I — Principles & Practices: Build the Foundation
- Understand the historical basis for sustainability disclosure and today’s landscape; the role of standard-setters, regulators, data providers, and stock exchanges
- Master the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and the concepts that underpin them across industries and sectors
- Learn how material sustainability information; both cross-industry and sector-specific, informs corporate strategy and investment decisions
- Apply materiality assessment principles to identify which sustainability impacts are significant enough to disclose.
Level II — Application & Analysis: Put It to Work
- Identify the sustainability-related risks and opportunities that affect a company’s financial position, performance, and prospects
- Normalise sustainability data for effective fundamental, comparative, and industry-level financial analysis
- Connect sustainability information to a company’s revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and cost of capital
- Apply sustainability data to the valuation models on which investment allocation and capital decisions are based
